 Thank you to everyone who came out to help at the Marshmallow Drop on Saturday, April 15th. Vallie had never been in a helicopter before but looking at her great aerial shots you'd never know it. While the rest of us hit the fields for action shots, Mike H & Joe V traded off taking portraits and working the long line waiting for a photo with the Oviedo bunny. I asked the last parent in the bunny portrait line to take a group shot of the nearby members: Jerry, Ali, Rich P, Erin, Paula, Vallie, Mike H and Joe V and he did a great job. Thank you also to Rich K, Wendy E, Dave M, Karina and Aiden for helping to photograph this event. I think I left someone out, but who? Oh that's right, Brown Bunny and Yellow Duck were kept very busy posing with the kids and photographers.

Presentation: DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?

How do you navigate through those pesky menus on your camera? What lens can you use to shoot star trails? What shutter speed is best to stop a bird in motion? How about those rules of composition you've heard about? Are they really rules or can you just ignore them? Want to know how to do something in Photoshop or Lightroom? Maybe you have a photo that needs cropping, composition help, straightening or just tweaking the white balance? Curious about printer settings? Scott loves printer questions. So bring your questions, and a file or two you want to work on and we will put Scott to the test before he heads off to the islands. We'll also be answering any Zenfolio questions you may have as well.

FUN, FOOD and PHOTOS, it is that time of year for our 3rd Annual Oviedo Photo Club picnic.
Please bring your picnic lunch and join us to explore this 50 acre Seminole County park. There is a boardwalk, a mixed hardwood swamp, a lake with a sandy beach and of course wildlife, including your fellow members, to photograph so bring your camera. We have a pavilion reserved and the club will provide bottled water.

Congratulations to Erin M the winner of our Scavenger Hunt held during our April 3rd meeting. Scott came in 2 points behind her and Joe & Frank H teamed up to take third place. Joe & Frank were the only hunters that found an OPC rock and got the picture to prove it. Only 3 items on our list weren't found by anyone and we must admit those were very hard clues. If you'd like to try the hunt on your own a link to the list will be posted on our website, but you'll have to find it.

For our members who have joined the Florida Camera Club Council (FCCC) the 2017 2nd Triannual Print Competition will accept submissions from Saturday, April 29 to Thursday, May 18, 2017. Once you have submitted a print electronically the actual print must be delivered by Tuesday, May 23rd. Membership in FCCC is free to our club members but there is a fee to enter the competitions plus the cost of delivering your prints for the print competition.
A webinar on Features of Creative Images that will cover different type of creative images, judging criteria for creative images and the opportunity to practice scoring creative images will be on June 3rd from 9 - 11:30am and the cost is $25.00. There are only 25 spaces available for this webinar so don't wait to register.
Do you want a critique of an image, FCCC has set up an area to upload an image to be critiqued by a member of their judging team. It is an open forum and any other registered member may also critique your image. Interaction with the mentor judge is encouraged so you can reply to their critique and follow up with any questions or comments you may have. You can also ask questions on any photography related topic there as well. There is no cost to participate in the critiques.

In addition to selling photography equipment and hobby supplies, they also hold in-store photo classes, including Basic Digital SLR Class and How To Use Your Point & Shoot Camera. Classes are being held Fridays and Saturdays. Call them for more information and to register.
